castronovo.co.uk - Work Examples Vince graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a 2:1 BSc/BA Honours Degree in Multimedia Communications with Business Economics. Extensive business based assignments have included areas such as Advanced Marketing, Human Resources, Business Management, International Business and Accounting. Vince has researched on the theories of Maslow, Kotler and Porter to assist his learning in these areas.. In terms of Multimedia Communications assignments, areas studied extensively have included Internet Technologies, Programming and Project Management. Learnings from these have assisted Vince in his career so far in projects such as bedroom and conference room refurbishments in his time with hotels, using ideas and experience on time management and project operation, execution and evaluation. From January 2007 to June 2007, Vince managed a £7million bedroom and conference room refurbishment while working with Marriott. This included contractor liason and management, health and safety implementation and works snagging. Vince dealt directly with on-site contractors and designers, implementing and managing various procedures to ensure that the operation flowed correctly, efficiently and according to schedule. Vince has developed stock management and ordering systems using spreadsheets to monitor supply control. These have assisted in calculating trends so that orders can be made in accordance with business forecasts and budgets. Results from using these theories and practices have been consistent budget savings on costs and successfully falling well under budget month on month and vs previous year. During his career Vince has managed in various other areas of the hotel environement including the Leisure/Spa area combining his Housekeeping role as an Acting Assistant Facilities Manager. Vince also has experience of working at the 5-star Hanbury Manor Hotel and Country Club. As part of Vince's Degree Final Year Project he produced an Interactive Virtual Tour for the Museum of St Albans.
